Haley and Migui are new Colorado friends we’ve gotten lucky enough to meet here in Denver. They are actually an incredibly talented husband and wife wedding photography and videography team in Colorado too! Go check them out here: Good Moon Collective
Haley and Migui moved to Colorado about the same time as us this past fall. We found each other by chance on the Instagram. Sometimes I love that app because it connects us with rad people.
We became instant friends and do what photographers do and that’s offer to photograph each other. Sounds weird but, totally normal, I assure you.
I asked them the same thing I ask all of our couples and that’s where they envision having their photos taken. A place that means something to them. Almost instantly they both jumped at one of their favorite hot springs nestled off the side of a river, about two hours west of Denver.
On the eve of the winter solstice, a full cold moon and the great conjunction, [where Jupiter and Saturn nearly overlap to form a ‘double planet’- according to google], we adventured to the hot springs.
After a short hike and dicey scramble down some sketchy rocks, we made it to the hot springs. Brought a couple of roadie beers for some liquid courage but these two didn’t need it.
Haley and Migui have a connection like none other. It is magical when two humans connect on the level that they do. It hits you right in the middle of your heart. It’s that kind of love that you just feel.
They have so much respect, admiration and kindness for one another. It’s one of those loves that wish everyone could experience. Two of the kindest, sweetest, raddest humans and so lucky we get to call them friends.
If you ever get to meet them you’ll know what I’m talking about.
The hot spring was nestled on the bed of a quiet, snowy river. Warm steam rose off the water. They cuddled, they kissed, they hugged. Even the occasional playful bite. I’ll just let the photos do the talking.
We watched the light start to fade into a muted cotton candy sky as the sun set behind the mountain scape. It’s a day that I won’t forget anytime soon. Colorado has that special kind of affect on you.
It was dark by the time we started to hike back to our cars but completely lit by the full moon. Also, we totally saw the great conjunction on our moonlit hike back and it was one of the raddest things to experience.
Haley and Migui, you two are something special. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us but mostly your love.
